Our Meetings
Hey there! Im Cassandra!
Today was an exciting day as our group came together for our first meeting. This meeting was all about discussing how to get the ball rolling on all the tasks and brain storming we will need to be doing.
Some of the tasks we have so far are;
getting a quote from the bus rental company to transport all of our Recreation and Leisure students to and from the summit, getting paper work and forms collected and filled out for funding, contacting Bonnie who is helping run the summit to get a formal letter of the event, promoting the Rural Recreation Association social-media pages and lastly coming up with a starter activity to get a conversation going at the summit.
The tasks have been delegated and we are eager to get this started!

Meeting number 4
Hello! It's Kara!

Yesterday was the big day! Cassandra, Kelsey, Ryan, Leena and myself were so happy with how the day played out! Ryan and I drove to the seminar together to help with the set up and get our parts organized. Kelsey, Cassandra, and Leena arrived on the bus with the rest of the students to ensure everyone made it onto the bus safely.

There were many informative speakers that attended. Each organization shared their ideas on how their organization can help youth and families can get involved in more recreational activities and reduce symptoms associated with mental health illnesses.

I lead the ice breaker activity. Cassandra and Kelsey presented the slideshow about D.I.F.D along with the mental health kahoot. Unfortunately, we ran out of time to present the final kahoot survey about the summit. We improvised with the help of our prof Kevin lee, by asking "What would you improve for the next summit in 2019" on a sticky note and participants stated their response on the paper as they left the summit.

Over all, it was a great day! Not only did we have lots of fun setting up and being part of the planning process, but we also found it very beneficial for our own knowledge.
